H.E. Acting Minister of Trade, Dr. Salman Al Jumaili discussed during his official visit to Washington DC from July 19 to July 25, with US officials and representatives of US companies a number of issues regarding trade and economic issues, including supplying ration card goods and the contribution of US companies in the reconstruction and development of liberated areas in Iraq.
Al Jumaili discussed with US officials the development of trade relations and overcoming the obstacles that would affect the trade exchange between the two countries.
For their part, the US officials congratulated the Iraqi government and Iraqi people on the liberation of Mosul. Dr. Al Jumaili praised the role of the international coalition led by the United States in providing support for Iraq, calling for more cooperation and coordination to achieve the final victory on terrorism, stressing that the victory that was achieved was an Iraqi one.
H.E Al Jumaili during his meetings mentioned that the Ministry of Planning has completed the preparation of the reconstruction and development plan for the liberated areas over the next ten years, noting that this plan is linked to the five-year Development Plans (2018-2022) and (2023-2027), pointing out that the Iraqi government is working to facilitate the business environment in Iraq and encourage global business leaders to enter the Iraqi market.
